Stage Sparkles

On the Full Circle

Anniversary of Tried & True, the Taping

which just happens to coincide with

Tried & True, the Tour; Closing Night!

Yeah.

The party's over.

Confetti floats

like feathers

softly, drifting

on the breath of songs sung

and laughter unrestrained,

finally settling silently.

Leaving in its wake

a thousand smiles

and teardrops

and heartbeats

and gasps, that sharp intake

when a note cut through the night as sharply as

freezing air steals breath.

Glitter still clings.

making everything sparkle

lighting up souls

with melodies caressed

and lyrical stories

of love

of life

of hurt

and hope.

Listen

and you can still hear

the tinkling of piano keys

and crinkling laughs

that lifted burdens

and lightened hearts.

You can hear the

echo of applause

not just for song

but for sheer JOY

of that peculiar shared exchange

between performer and

audience.

That multicolored beach ball

that bounces

out and back

from stage to seat

and back again.

Those ripples

that radiate out from the spotlighted

star

to the waiting, willing, partners in art

Who energetically, and with abandon

Toss it back!

That unique weaving

by community.

The lovely, simply complex tapestry

that is entertainment.

So - from one partner in crime

who joyfully opened envelopes

filled with little flat slips of paper

that brought giggling anticipation

and perfectly perfect satisfaction . . .

I say:

THANK YOU!

Thank You, Clay Aiken!

and . . .

Quiana Parler
